Pastor Will Hazard

In November of 2004 Pastor Hazard accepted a call to serve as Senior Pastor of St. Timothy Lutheran Church.

In addition to serving as a Pastor of the Southwest California Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, Pastor Hazard has served on various synodical ministry teams including Congregational Life and Rostered ministries. He has also served four terms as Conference Dean.

In addition to his duties as a pastor of the church, Pastor Hazard loves gardening, physical fitness, hiking and reading. He and the former Eva Stubblefield were married August 14, 1976 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Santa Barbara. They have two children, Leah age 28, and Erik age 23.

Karen Taylor

Associate in Ministry, Director of Church Music, Preschool Resource Teacher

Karen Taylor grew up in Bremerton, Washington. She earned Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Music degrees from Pacific Lutheran University and a Master’s degree in Music Education from California State University, Fullerton. She also attended Haarlem’s Summer Academy for Organ in The Netherlands.

Karen was commissioned as an Associate in Ministry by the ELCA (Evangelical Lutheran Church in America) in 1987. She holds a California Clear Multiple-Subject teaching credential.

Karen has taught elementary and preschool students for more than thirty years and currently teaches music, religion, computer, and enrichment at the Preschool. Karen began accompanying Lutheran church services in 1966 and became St. Timothy’s Music Director in 1997.

Karen is married to Dennis Taylor. They have two grown children.
